One Ordinary Family on an Extraordinary Adventure

One Year Traveling | Max’s Story | Learning Across America

This week, the family is taking over the Learning Across America blog. Each family member will be sharing their stories about our first year of full-time travel. Pull up a camp chair, and see what we’ve been up to. Like the other kids, Max picked the pictures that he wanted to go along with his story. Quite appropriately, both of them deal with eating.

A Year of Travel | Max’s Story

Max2Hi my name is Max. I am nine years old, and my family wanted to go live their dreams (because my mom is a speech pathologist and she saw a lot of people that got too old and never got to do their dream she did not want to wait because by then she would be too old and would never be able to do it).

My favorite place is in North Carolina. The first place where I stayed it was bad, then my mom and dad found a different place and it looked good, and it was great.

Max1I did not go to all the states yet, but I did make it to 21 states and to the other side of the country. All that I saw was pretty cool. I got to go to all these national parks and everything. At first I did not want to go, but then I gave it a try. The first day we did not make it out of California, but on the second day we made it to Arizona, and it was awesome.

We do not know if we are going home or not, but I am still praying about it, and I have the feeling we might go back. I do not know if I will make it to the rest of the states on this trip, but I want to go see the rest when I grow up.

Max, the best part of your family getting to travel is that I was able to finally meet you and it was a pleasure. Missing home is tough, but always remember, home is where your family is, and you have family every where, even in Maryland buddy!

Max – your Mom and Dad are so smart to not wait until they are old to travel! It is way better that they get to do it with you and your sisters and brothers. We miss you guys a ton and are so glad you miss home just a little bit. Keep praying because we can ask God for ANYTHING! He may say, “no” or “yes” or “wait” but He always hears our prayers. Thanks for writing and keeping us posted about your trip. I’d love to hear more – soon! Guess what? We got 4 little pigs last week and they are eating out of your old pig feeder! They are very happy and full. Thanks for sharing all your stuff when you left. Hope to see you soon!
